## DOCX to Markdown Converter FAQ

How the utility works, what its result means and where its limits are.

What Word formats are supported?

This tool supports .docx files (the modern Word format used since Word 2007). Older .doc files are not supported. If you have a .doc file, open it in Word or LibreOffice and save it as .docx first.

Does it keep formatting?

Yes. Headings, bold, italic, underline, links, ordered and unordered lists, and basic paragraph structure are all preserved in the Markdown output.

Does it convert tables?

Tables in Word documents are converted to HTML tables by the parser and then to Markdown tables where possible. Complex merged cells may not convert perfectly.

What about images?

Images embedded in Word documents are referenced but not embedded in the Markdown output. The converter focuses on text content and structure.

Is my document uploaded anywhere?

No. All processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your document never leaves your device and is not sent to any server.
