It then uses Turndown.js to convert that HTML into clean Markdown syntax. The conversion happens automatically the moment you paste.

Does it work from Word and Google Docs?

Yes, it works great with both Microsoft Word and Google Docs. Simply select the content you want to convert, copy it (Cmd/Ctrl+C), and paste it into the input area. The tool will capture all the formatting including headings, bold, italic, lists, links, and tables.

Can I paste from web pages?

Absolutely. Select any content on a web page, copy it, and paste it here. The converter will preserve the document structure including headings, paragraphs, links, images, lists, and other formatting elements from the web page.

What formatting is preserved?

The converter preserves headings, bold, italic, strikethrough, links, images, ordered and unordered lists, blockquotes, code blocks, inline code, tables, and horizontal rules. Complex visual formatting like colors, fonts, and custom styles are stripped since Markdown does not support them.
