Can it convert scanned PDFs?

This tool extracts text-based content from PDFs. Scanned PDFs that contain only images will not produce text output. For scanned documents you would need an OCR tool.

What is the maximum file size?

There is no hard file size limit. The tool runs in your browser so the practical limit depends on your device's available memory. Most PDFs under 50MB work well.

Does it preserve formatting?

The converter extracts text content and organizes it by page with Markdown headings. Basic text structure is preserved, but complex layouts like multi-column formatting may not translate perfectly.
