What is RTF?

RTF (Rich Text Format) is a document file format developed by Microsoft. It supports text formatting like bold, italic, fonts, and colors. RTF files can be opened by most word processors including WordPad, TextEdit, and LibreOffice.

Does it preserve bold and italic?

The converter extracts text content and applies basic formatting. Simple bold and italic markers in the RTF source are detected and converted to Markdown syntax where possible.

Can I paste RTF content directly?

Yes. You can either upload an .rtf file using drag and drop or click to browse, or paste raw RTF source code into the text area. Both methods work.

What about complex RTF documents?

The converter handles standard RTF text extraction well. Very complex documents with embedded objects, images, or unusual formatting may lose some structure during conversion.
