Where do I put my llms.txt file?

Place the file at the root of your domain so it is reachable at https://yourdomain.com/llms.txt. AI tools and crawlers that support the standard look for it there, exactly like robots.txt. Upload it to your web root, public folder, or static assets directory depending on your hosting setup.

Does an llms.txt file help AI engines cite me?

It helps by giving AI systems a clean, human-curated list of your highest-value pages with clear titles and descriptions. That reduces ambiguity about what your site covers and points models toward the content you most want surfaced.
